Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become life long learners. Academic content is made accessible by providing hands-on experiences tied to corresponding workplace competencies, post-secondary pre-requisites, and dual enrollment and dual credit opportunities. In fact, the high school graduation rate for CTE concentrators is about 90%, 15 percentage points high than the national average. In short, today's cutting edge, rigorous, and relevant career and technical education prepares students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers.

In 2018, Harvard University predicts only 33% of all jobs will require a four-year degree or more, while the overwelming majority will be middle skilled jobs requiring technical skills and training at the credential or Associates Degree level.
